LEAVE YOUR TROUBLES OUTSIDE, NEW LEAD CASTING FOR LONDON'S PRODUCTION OF CABARET HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED
Bridgerton star Hannah Dodd is set to play Sally Bowles alongside Olivier nominee Rob Madge (My Son's a Queer But What Can You Do?) as the Emcee.
The show, which first opened in the West End in 2021 and is the winner of of a record-breaking 7 Olivier Awards, is directed by Rebecca Frecknall, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt and choreography by Julia Cheng. Musical supervision is by Jennifer Whyte with musical direction is by Ben van Tienen. Lighting design is by Isabella Byrd, sound design by Nick Lidster, wigs and hair design by Sam Cox and make-up design by Guy Common. The casting director is Stuart Burt and the original associate director and prologue director is Jordan Fein. The prologue composer and musical director is Angus MacRae.
The iconic musical, by composer John Kander, lyricist Fred Ebb, and book writer Joe Masteroff, includes songs such as Willkommen, Don’t Tell Mama, Mein Herr, Maybe This Time, Money and the titlular, Cabaret.
CABARET is currently starring Emmy, Tony and Grammy award winner Billy Porter (Pose) as the Emcee, and double Olivier Award-nominee Marisha Wallace (Guys & Dolls, Dreamgirls) as Sally Bowles. They are appearing in the show until Saturday 28th May 2025.
Dodd and Madge take over the roles from Thursday 29th May 2025 with Anne-Marie Wojna as Sally Bowles and Damon Gould as the Emcee from the Monday 26th - Wednesday 28th May, between the two casts.
The current cast of CABARET also includes Daniel Bowerbank as Clifford Bradshaw, Vivian Parry as Fraulein Schneider, Fenton Gray as Herr Schultz, Fred Haig as Ernst Ludwig and Jessica Kirton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie.
The cast is completed by Xenoa Campbell-Ledgister, Sam Darius, Damon Gould, Adrian Grove, El Haq Latief, Justin-Lee Jones, Ela Lisondra, Hícaro Nicolai, Andy Rees, Alexandra Regan, Marina Tavolieri, Ben Simon Wilson, Anne-Marie Wojna, Patrick Wilden and Lucy Young.
The prologue company are James Hastings, Dak Mashava, Nethra Menon, Oluwatosin Omotosho, Kristin Wei Wong, Rachel Benson, Ami Benton, Joseph Hardy, Andrew Linnie, Jack William Parry and Jazmyn Raikes.
Dodd is not scheduled to appear on Wednesday 4th June at 2.00pm, Thursday 12th June at 7.30pm, Wednesday 18th June at 2.00pm, Thursday 26th June at 7.30pm, Wednesday 2nd July at 2.00pm, Thursday 10th July at 7.30pm, Wednesday 16th July at 2.00pm, Thursday 24th July at 7.30pm, Wednesday 30th July at 2.00pm, Thursday 7th August at 7.30pm, Wednesday 13th August at 2.00pm, Thursday 21st August at 7.30pm, Wednesday 27th at August 2.00pm, Thursday 4th September at 7.30pm, Wednesday 10th September at 2.00pm and Thursday 18th September at 7.30pm. At these performances, the role will be played by the alternate Sally Bowles, Wojna.
Madge is not scheduled to appear from Monday 9th June to Monday 16th June (inclusive), and on Tuesday 16th September. At these performances, the role of Emcee will be played by Gould.
CABARET will celebrate 1,500 performances at the Kit Kat Club during a special gala night on Monday 7th July.
